New build and converted residential developments must comply with Part E of the Building Regulations if there are separating walls or floors between dwellings in the scheme. This ensures that an appropriate level of sound insulation has been installed to minimise the potential for disturbance from noisy neighbours.

Your local Building Control officer may request evidence that your development complies with the requirements of Part E of the Building Regulations. In order to do so, you’ll need to provide them with sound insulation test report and certification from an approved testing facility such as Parker Acoustics.

Parker Acoustics Ltd. can perform sound insulation tests for your development in Devon. In addition to residential dwellings, we can assist with sound testing of separating floor and walls between acoustically-sensitive spaces within health-care facilities, offices, hotels and schools.

Our test engineers are full members of the Institute of Acoustics (IOA) and have been performing sound insulation tests across the United Kingdom for more than 17 years.

Since we are registered members of the Sound Insulation Testing and Measurement Association (SITMA), you can have complete confidence in our ability to carry out accurate sound insulation tests which comply with current UK regulations and standards.
